Eduardo Raúl Alberto Mallea is a distinguished lawyer who graduated from the University of Buenos Aires in 2001 with a specialization in Tax Law. On 2024, he served as Director General of the Argentine Customs Administration. In this role, he represented Argentina at major international forums, including the 143rd and 144th sessions of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Council in Brussels and the Multilateral Agreement on Customs (COMALEP) in Spain, where he also moderated panels on emerging customs technologies. He has lectured on key topics such as Argentina’s role in combating transnational organized crime, innovations in artificial intelligence in customs, and the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) program.
His leadership is further reflected in the coordination of technical meetings and diplomatic dialogue with international institutions, establishing him as a leading figure in international trade and customs policy.
Prior to his appointment as Director General, Eduardo led the Customs and International Trade department at Bruchou & Funes de Rioja, where he was a partner from 2011 to 2024. Throughout his career, he has been a speaker at numerous trade and customs law seminars and has published extensively in outlets such as La Nación and Thomson Reuters. He is a member of esteemed institutions including the Buenos Aires Bar Association and the Argentine Institute of Customs Studies. He has been consistently recognized as one of the country’s top customs lawyers by Chambers & Partners and Legal 500, which included him in its “Hall of Fame” for continued excellence in the field.
